Representations of Australian Aboriginals through History

Abstract: This 8 page paper looks at the way the aboriginal people of Australia have been represented in the media. The paper starts with the initial reports from some of the first visitors to Australia including Capitan William Dampier and Captain Cook and traces the images and representations looking at the written word and films such as Heritage, Jedda and Walkabout, examining the way the image has changed and the way representations take place in the twenty-first century. The bibliography cites 14 sources.
