Welcomed after decades of tight monopoly, businesses and residential consumers alike are looking forward to the opportunity of choosing their own utility provider and enjoying decreased rates. There are drawbacks to the plan, however, as there usually are with most two-sided situations. The writer addresses the proposed deregulation and discusses how it will impact the public.
