Vietnam War / Mainstream Press Coverage Of The Tet Offensive

Abstract: A 7 page research paper which examines how the New York Times covered the Tet Offensive of the Vietnam War using only primary sources. The writer looks at the original articles published between Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, 1968, and concludes that, despite the tendency of the conservative right to blame the American withdrawal from Vietnam on the media, the coverage was accurate, factual, and unbiased. Bibliography lists 9 sources.
