Religion And The Media

Abstract: A 5 page research essay that explores the relationship between the many forms of the media and religion. How do journalists report about religious events or do they? Are journalists knowledgeable about religion? Where does the public gain its opinions about religion, faith and spirituality? These are the questions explored in this essay. The historical mistrust between religious leaders and the press is based on a number of issues which were revealed in a 1993 study. This writer argues that the media do, in fact, influence what people believe. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
