Abstract: This 22 page paper provides an overview of the response of the United Nations to two major conflicts in the Middle East, the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza by Israel and the Invasion of Kuwait by Sadaam Hussein. This paper relates some of the historical elements around both of these events, but more specifically addresses the legal elements, including UN Resolutions 242, 338, 425, 660 and 1211.
