Abstract: 10 pages in length. Humanity's self-interest knows no bounds. No matter the level of destruction his actions cause, he always justifies it as a necessary occurrence in order to advance the human species. The irony of such an assertion is both laughable and terrifying at the same time; man's continued callous treatment of the environment will one day disintegrate the very planet upon which humans live, so how can such damaging aspects as greenhouse gases override any possible benefit of using fossil fuel? Such a myopic and self-absorbed perspective over the decades has finally created a tangible panic throughout the world as entire societies are quickly succumbing to the climate changes directly attributable to greenhouse ozone depletion. Along with myriad other American cities, Monroe, MI and Toledo, OH are doing their part to combat the problem. Bibliography lists 12 sources.
