Abstract: This 8 page paper is written in two parts. The first part assesses how a firm will be assessed to determine whether or not it is a resident firm for tax purposes and then applies the rules by assessing a case of a firm incorporated in Singapore. The second part of the paper uses figures supplied by the student for a man with a business and business experiences, in order to determine his taxable income and tax liability for income tax.
