Gay Men Adjusting To HIV Treatment

Abstract: 8 pages in length. Within the context of person-centered counseling resides the equation that allows for an HIV-positive gay man to break down his defense mechanisms so he may rebuild with positive and proactive behavior. Adjusting to treatment is a multi-faceted process whereby a number of components must work in tandem if the adjustment is to be holistic in nature; to only address some of the elements is for the counselor to take the patient half way and then abandon him.
