Abstract: This 82 page paper looks at the role of training and development and the impact that it can have on staff. The paper starts with an introduction and then moves to an in-depth literature review which looks at the value of training and development to staff, the way training can be delivered and the links between training, development and motivation. The background to HSBC is considered along with its strategies and the current training and development practices. The paper then simulates primary research with HSBC employees to assess the way that the training and development is impacting on them. The paper ends with a discussion and conclusion.
