Abstract: This 20 page paper examines the Australian business environment looking at a range of influencing factors concerning the background to the business environment including national and international interests, structure of the economy and general social, political and economic influences, the paper then examines the performance of the Australian business environment and national gratitude which been put in place to support the business environment. The last five pages of the paper considers the position of Telstra within the Australian business environment giving general background information to the company, assessing the impact of the environment on the company and identifying Telstra's opportunities and threats.
