The Abiotic Environment

Abstract: A 2 page paper discussing the contribution of the abiotic environment to the support of life. That the abiotic environment is itself without life in no way diminishes its effect on the biotic component of the ecological web. The abiotic component encompasses environmental qualities such as water, temperature, acidity, nutrients available, osmotic pressure, light, soil structure and others. At its base, the entire system is driven by the energy of the sun, whether in terms of heat or light, and water is essential. The paper describes a picture of the activity contained on and within the forest floor. Bibliography lists 1 source.
