The Notebook/A Therapist's View

Abstract: A 5 page research paper that comments on this movie from the perspective of family therapy. The 2004 movie The Notebook (directed by Nick Cassavetes and taken from the novel by Nicholas Sparks) is an enduring love story. The story focuses on the love of Allie Hamilton (played as a young woman by Rachel McAdams) for Noah Calhoun (play as a young man by Ryan Gosling). The marriage that the audience see, as the narrative unfolds, is primarily the one that was forged between Allie and Noah. This is a strong union that endures the years and nurtures them both in their old age. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
