Abstract: A 12 page paper discussing conceptual and theoretical frameworks of social theories applicable to gender discourse, with the addition of a discussion of division of labor. The largest part of the paper discusses social movements among women in countries of the Middle East, discussing the region in general but also specifically addressing Jordan, Palestine and Iraq in the contexts of tribalism, religion and culture.
