How Would Jonathan Swift See America?

Abstract: A 6 page essay that parodies the style of Jonathan Swift. In Gulliver's Travels, Swift uses satire to lampoon the foibles and idiosyncrasies of English culture during this era. This examination of current American culture, customs and mores offers a similar tongue-in-cheek satire. While not approaching the superb imagination and superb literary style of Swift, this is intended to follow his template of an outsider looking at American culture with absolutely no previous knowledge concerning it. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
