Evaluating Research Resources

Abstract: A 4 page paper discussing the manner in which researchers should approach distinguishing among published articles for the purpose of evaluating their credibility for inclusion in academic research. Articles published in scholarly journals have been reviewed by those knowledgeable in the subjects those articles address. Articles published in trade magazines and the popular press may be reliable as well, but also may consist of more opinion than fact. It is the responsibility of the reader to be familiar with the reputation of the publication. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
