Abstract: A 6 page paper on the attitudes underlying the contemporary school of management and the evolution of Total Quality Management (TQM) and its effects on American manufacturing. From the beginnings established by Frederick Taylor's time studies and efficiency of movement in accomplishing a task evolved what became not merely a management theory, but a way of corporate life for those organizations that will allow it.
