Music & The Cold War

Abstract: A 3 page research paper that examines the role of music in the Cold War. The writer argues that in order to win the ideological battle, both sides were determined to co-opt music for their own purposes. Examination of this period demonstrates that music was both affected by the Cold War and also that it affected the Cold War, as it was used to sway the public mindset toward specific ideologies. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
