Abstract: A 10 page research paper that offers historical perspective into the arena of corporate governance. The writer posits that the type of governance currently employed is a patriarchy that finds shareholders, for the most part, a passive group of investors, despite the fact that they actually own the company. Different theorists have recommended specific types of reforms necessary to control what has become an uncontrollable situation with little or not accountability. What would happen, for instance, if Block's recommendations regarding stewardship and partnerships were to be widely implemented? Is this even possible? This writer makes concluding remarks suggesting some reforms that must, at the very least, be made. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
