What do we know about the influences of media science on the public?

Abstract: Communication takes place through the mass media. This 11 page paper considers what we know, and what we do not know, about the influence that the mass media has on the public. Included in the essay are issues such as the way the media may be used to manipulate the audience, with examples of manipulation and audiences being mislead. The paper also considers how the interpretation of mass media messages takes place and the influence this will have on the message. The bibliography cites 15 sources.
