Abstract: This 5 page paper uses the 14th January 2004 Beige Book Report, made by the Federal Reserve, and examines the results to assess the likelihood of an change in interest rates. The analysis looks at the results in different sectors and then considers how and why economists may come to different conclusions over the need for interest rate changes.
