Abstract: This 6 page paper argues that the media emphasises the division that already exist within society. The paper begins by considering how sport itself is a reflection and also a source of social division, not only in terms of class but also in terms of age, gender and physical ability. The paper then looks at how and why the media reports and reinforces these divisions. The bibliography cites 10 sources.
