Religion and Ritual: Cross Cultural Observations from the Eyes of a Young Girl

Abstract: A 6 page paper which presents and supports the contention that religious rituals have meaning only in the context of the culture in which they evolved. The observations of a young girl who has traveled to the U.S. from a third world country are presented as evidence of this contention. The young girl observes a common every-day procedure and interprets it to be a great ritualistic ceremony of religious significance. No sources are listed.
