Abstract: 8 pages in length. The issue at hand is the environmental disaster of global oil spills. There is nary a waterway in the world that has not been poisoned by the black muck of crude oil as it gushes from broken lines and damaged tankers. To be sure, every precaution is taken to avert such catastrophes but because of the human element involved, there are always inherent dangers with transporting oil. The writer compares the political impact of Scotland and the United States as it relates to environmental issues. Bibliography lists 7 sources.
