Abstract: This 5 page paper reports the early days of Islam beginning with God's call to Mohammed, how his calling was revealed to him and why he was called. The essay discusses the early rise of Islam and its unifying effect on a very large part of the world. There is a discussion about the Qur'an (Koran) and the Five Pillars of Faith. The difference between the two sects, Sunni and Shiite, is explained. The Thousand and One Nights is mentioned in terms of the diversity of Islam. Bibliography lists 3 sources.
