Fundamental Tensions between Accountants and Managers

Abstract: 7 pages. Accountants perform a variety of roles in organizations for which their professional ethics require them to be objective. The work of managers is more ambitious and requires political decisions that are in their nature subjective. Therefore there is a fundamental tension between the roles of accountants and managers. This paper discusses the reasons behind this statement and why it appears to be all too true. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
