Animal Facilitated Therapy

Abstract: 5 pages. Social work theories have repeatedly demonstrated the beneficial connection between pets and people, primarily with those who are confined to residential and nursing homes due to either age or illness. Their lives have been essentially stripped away from them, so it would seem the last thing they need is for their beloved pet to be forcibly taken from them, as well. What scientific studies continue to show is how animals provide physical and emotional benefits just with their mere presence. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
