Abstract: The concept of 'otherness' as a proponent of discriminatory practices dates back to the beginning of human history. This 5 page paper posits that the role of the media can be to perpetuate the stereotype and negative attitude or it can be used to educate the public in a manner whereby the homosexual lifestyle might become acceptable to the general public and ending prejudice.
