Why The SEC Hesitates To Approve IASC Standards

Abstract: A 6 page paper. The SEC has delayed and refused to accept accounting standards as put forth by the IASC. U.S. GAAP standards from the FASB are more stringent in its requirements. Currently, any foreign company who wants to register with the SEC and be listed on an Exchange in the United States must reconcile their financial reports to U.S. GAAP standards. The writer agrees with the concerns of the FASB and explains why. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
