U.S. International Policy in Relation to the Environment: The 1992 Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit and the Years Which Followed

Abstract: A 6 page discussion of U.S. international policy in regard to the environment. Recounts the failure of the U.S. in the 1992 Earth Summit to take her expected role of leader in implementing solutions to our ever-growing environmental problems. Emphasizes that while it is easy to blame one presidential administration or another for our continuing environmental problems, in reality it is Congress who has consistently failed to provide formal support in terms of taxation, spending, and regulation which is needed to implement effective international policies.
