Adam And Corin In Shakespeare's As You Like It

Abstract: The play, As You Like It, by William Shakespeare is written as a comedy. What doesn't appear in the advertisement is the fact that it is also a social commentary on the feudal system of land ownership and poverty. This 5 page paper argues that, As a social critic, Shakespeare used satire in his depiction of the lower classes (Adam and Corin) as a way to deal with the common man and poke fun at the pretentiousness of the elite.
