Abstract: This 10 page paper consider the role that capital controls may have played in the aftermath of the Asian Crisis in Malaysia. The paper consider the crisis, and then goes on to look at the recovery discussing the role that the various financial restrictions placed on capital may have contributed. This balanced paper uses Thailand as an alternative model that recovered without the same economic measures. The bibliography cites 10 sources.
