The Possible Impact of Ofcom

Abstract: This 8 page paper considers the proposals for a new communications regulatory body in the United Kingdom encompassing the existing bodies into a single unit. The provision may appear to be a logical and effective move, but with this there are also concerns from may quarters regarding the effect this many have on the media, individuals and society in general. This paper considers those concerns which range from the development of a conflict in interests and bias to inaction over the internet and the lack of representation for advertisers.
