Implications of NAFTA on Accounting

Abstract: This 6 page report discusses the impact of the creation and implementation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and the fact that it has resulted in numerous additions to the complexity of international (albeit North American) trade and accounting. The approval (1992) and implementation of NAFTA (1994) have ultimately demonstrated that the power and the free sanction to conduct business across international borders, regardless of its political intent, still has a great deal of pragmatic issues to conquer -- not the least of which is accounting.
