Andrew Carnegie and Today's Welfare State

Abstract: This 6 page paper looks at the social ideals of this charitable industrialist who did not believe in giving alms. The paper looks at his ideas and compares them with the current situation of the welfare state finding both similarities and differences ending with the conclusion that the welfare state as it currently exists can be seen as a contradiction of Carnegie's principles.
