Abstract: A 7 page paper discussing how interest rates and national economic growth are interrelated. Though called "the dismal science," economics provides a fascinating field of study, particularly in macroeconomics, that larger portion of the economy involving interest rates and GDP. Understanding the effect of interest rate manipulation also serves to make more sense of it. The paper also provides a general US economic history from the 1960s through 1990s. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
