Abstract: This 12 page paper considers the legal and moral duties of an auditor in Australia. They are obliged to make a qualified audit report only when they find any breach, non compliance or fraud which makes a material difference on the accounts, otherwise they need only report their findings to the company or trustees in the recent cases of problems of non compliance in superannuation funds.
