Approaches to Communication: Functionalist, Interpretive, and Critical

Abstract: A 6 page outline of the many approaches to communication. Delineates between three most basic of these: the functionalist, the interpretive and the critical. Defines the functionalist approach as one which relies almost solely on emotion. Clarifies that the intensity of an individual's approach and whether it is directed at explanation or an attack of another approach is what distinguishes between the interpretive and the critical approaches to communication.
