Abstract: A 25 page research paper that tests the hypotheses that mysticism was practiced during the time of Jesus and that Jesus was a mystic. This paper includes these sections: introduction, review of the literature, findings, discussion, summary and conclusions. Mysticism is defined with examples given of what mystics say about their experience. Theology is linked definitively to mysticism. Examples of how mysticism was practiced during the time of Jesus are given using Biblical verses. Bibliography lists 20 sources.
