Agricultural Biotechnology and the Middle East

Abstract: This 18 page report discusses agricultural biotechnology with a special focus on the nations of the Middle East. Biotechnology is the name given to a variety of agricultural, automated and industrial technologies that make use of the natural operations or products of biological, thus living, things. Agricultural biotechnology offers the potential to address many problems that have had a direct and limiting impact on crop and livestock production while improving the availability of food for people throughout the world. This report also addresses the issues associated with a lack of policy associated with agricultural biotechnology and the fact that such a lack can stand in the way of larger goals of improved production and opportunity in developing nations of the world.
