The National Labor Relations Act of 1935

Abstract: A 10 page paper discussing the history of this New Deal law. Labor unrest had been well known before World War I, but the federal government largely had remained aloof from the labor movement. The Wagner Act provided a legal basis for the existence of labor unions; the Taft-Hartley amendment 12 years later largely did the same for employers. The paper discusses each of these laws; labor conditions preceding the NLRA; and several ways they are still affecting US business. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
