The New Economy

Abstract: A 10 page paper discussing the still-emerging new economy and the factors defining it. As the US continues in the longest period of economic expansion it has ever known, some economists wonder aloud if perhaps the model of the business cycle is passe. While economists who should know better still need not proclaim the business cycle dead yet, this new economy does provide compelling evidence that accepted rules either already have been broken or are in the process. The US needs to ensure that it works with other players in the world market rather than attempt to dictate to them; the need for cooperation in the midst of competition should assist in maintaining the proper and profitable attitude.
