Strategic Use of Business Budgets

Abstract: A 6 page paper discussing changing views of the purpose of the corporate budget and changes that some organizations have made so that they can be more responsive to customer needs without being unduly constrained by their own budgets. The budgetary process has been one that has seemed to be unassailable in the quest to refine business processes for greatest efficiency, but the experience of several organizations of all sizes has demonstrated that as no other aspect of business practice is sacred, neither is the old pattern of budgeting in today's business environment.
