K Mart's Problems and Possible Solutions

Abstract: An 8 page paper discussing issues of management, marketing, finance and manufacturing at the nation's second-largest retailer. K Mart appears to be back on the right track. Its Big K Marts are meeting success in every market in which they operate, and the quality improvement of the past few years is greatly noticeable. Stores are improving and are no longer the cramped and often dirty experiences of the past as K Mart seeks to attract those who were formerly prosperous, but have begun an inexorable slide down the economic scale. If it is to take back the market share lost to Wal-Mart and Target, it will need to continue its present course and improve customer service. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
