Newfoundland Fisheries and the Industrial Location Model

Abstract: This 14 page paper looks at the Newfoundland fisheries. Starting with some background it then applies economic theory to the case. Issues of the location, transportation, price, supply and demand, and the changing market are all illustrated with a series of 11 graphs which include factors such as cost, marginal cost, total average cost, normal profit, maximising profit and the way in which the decision to continue producing in the long or short term are all included in the graphs. The bibliography cites 9 sources.
