Evil: The Jewish View

Abstract: 2 pages in length. The Jews view evil as a necessary element of one's existence; however, they are forever attempting to figure out why they, as a collective people, have been forced to endure such a significant amount of it in a historical content. Indeed, Smith and Novak are especially eloquent in their ability to illustrate the complexities related to the Jewish perception of evil, implicating the nature of existence as one of the strongest explanations. The writer discusses how the Jews incorporate the presence of evil and all its forces into many of their religious rituals and observances, eternally hoping to rid themselves of not only their enemies but also any offenses they may have committed along the way.
